HP Twitch Servos
Servo control of the system is handled by the very handy Adafruit 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Driver Board, giving increased flexibility over the I2C bus while providing significant current to safely run your HP servos. This helps simplify your wiring as they don’t require an alternate source of power to ensure the proper current levels necessary to properly run the servos. This system also utilizes the Output Enable capabilities of this board to cut power to the servos between movement, essentially killing any annoying buzz/hum and servo jitter cause by the occasional failure for a servo to reach its intended position properly. It is a Nuisance we have probably all experienced during our builds at one point or another.
Through the offloading of servo operation to this board, the system can then efficiently control both the NeoPixel LEDs and the Servos, a possibility that cannot be achieved easily using the basic Arduino servo library and Adafruit’s NeoPixel library. Big Happy Dude’s Slow Servo Library is much better anyway.
